A fact proven by SA Cares for Life, is that faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains, so can the amount of love that will fit into a shoebox will change lives.Pack an Immanuel Shoe Box with SA Cares and make a difference in the life of a child in need. This is a unique project that brings Good News and Great Joy to kids in need through a simple shoebox filled with gifts. No matter how old or how young you are, get involved and make a difference to a child who is less fortunate. A shoebox is far more than just a gift …it opens up a world of life-changing opportunities of hope for the child, their family and their community. A whole lot of love and hope can fit inside a shoebox

Christmas reminds us that the true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ who is: Immanuel, God with us. The Immanuel Shoebox gifts demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way and serve as an example of His greatest gift to us.

Gift-filled shoe boxes or own selected gifts for children, lovingly packed by families, churches, schools and businesses throughout Pretoria results in smiles on faces, bringing joy and helping the children registered in the projects of SA Cares for Life to learn about The Word, faith and that they are special and loved by God.

  • Companies: A great charitable Team Building activity. Create fun ideas to inspire and motivate your colleagues to collect shoeboxes and gifts and pack them together.
  • Media:  Help us to get an article in your local paper or a chat on the radio station.Challenge and chain a friend: Nominate and Challenge a friend, family member or similar company or professional group on Facebook to pack a box and ask them to do the same. Build a chain of not breaking the circle and make it a fun way of meeting new packing friends! Post those photos of packing and lets make a difference!

Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE)

How can you get BBBEE Points when joining SA Cares for Life ?

  • SA Cares for Life operates as a Section 21 Company (Reg. No. 98 23218.08) with 5 Directors and 7 members. We are registered with the Department of Social Development as a non-profit organization (06-880 NPO) and has a Section 18A approval with reference number : PBO18/11/13/4743.
  • SA Cares for Life is an organization that manages projects and programmes with excellence and pride itself in a reputable track record. We have been providing services since 1993 and celebrate 23 years of success and blessing.
  • We welcome the opportunity for you to partner with us as we strive to uplift South Africa together.
  1. BBBEE Opportunities
  2. BEE Element : Socio-Economic Development
  3. BEE Element : Enterprise Development

Socio-Economic Development

One of the simplest and effective ways of earning BBBEE points is to increase the level of spending on Socio-Economic Development (SED). SED is one of the seven elements of a BEE scorecard focusing on the extent to which an organization carries out initiatives intended to uplift the South African society. It is worth 25 points for a Qualifying Small Enterprise and 5 points for a Generic company.

Therefore, without a shade of doubt, companies stand to gain immensely by channelling significant investment levels towards SED initiatives not only by earning valuable BEE points, but also from a marketing perspective. Investing in SED builds a superb image and an explosive reputation for an organization.

SA Cares for Life has a wide range of social development projects which uplifts South African society and empowers previously disadvantaged persons. You, as a company can choose a specific project and become part of a project according to your own time, resources and availability.

PROJECTS :

  • Cluster Care upliftment Community Project
  • Baby Nurseries
  • Rural Early Learning Centres (Creche)
  • Foster Care Project

Enterprise Development

SA Cares for Life believes in empowering individuals to be able to take care of themselves. We see our clients as partners, not as dependants and we aim to play a establishing role in their independence. We have seen the value of self-worth and success and how this contributes to a healthy individual who can live his/her life with pride.

Another way to earn BBBEE points is to allocate resources to enterprise development and contribute to the development of small black businesses. It is worth 25 points for a Qualifying Small Enterprise and 15 points for a Generic company.

SA Cares for Life has specific projects aimed at increasing business opportunities and consultation services to newly established black businesses. These range from skills development & training to start up capital/assistance to empower people to create and maintain their own businesses.

PROJECTS:

  • Dynamic Change Project in rural communities
  • Individual small business Development through Business Consulting
  • Lesedi Skills Training

Companies will receive, for all donations made, an Art. 18(a) certificate for tax benefits and a BBBEE Status report of SA Cares for Life. Companies will also receive a yearly feedback report as well as the annual report of SA Cares for Life.

Previous Projects have been approved by auditors as in line with BBBEE Elements & Scoring.

SA Cares has 23 years of experience and offers you the opportunity to identify yourself with a reputable organization.  We recognize and appreciate the active involvement of a company in uplifting the society and welcome partnership in changing the lives of previously disadvantaged people in rural communities and especially Orphan & Vulnerable Children in South Africa. We are proud of our projects and know that with your partnership we will continue to make a meaningful difference in our country.

How MySchool works

My School effectively facilitates school support on behalf of a range of business partners who have a specific interest in education. The fundraising programme is a partnership between business partners, consumer supporters and schools; all striving to create a better future for learners in South Africa. Approximately 600 000 parents and community minded individuals have MySchool supporter cards.

Supporters use their MySchool supporter cards whenever they transact with one of the MySchool business partners. A small percentage of their transaction is then allocated to their beneficiary school or charity. All these transactions are recorded and a statement is sent to individual supporters on a monthly basis.

The supporter card is not a debit or credit but serves as a measure through which valuable supporter data, such as transactions and funds raised for a particular school, are tracked.

In addition to channelling funds to schools and organisations, the system also promotes developmental initiatives in under resourced schools in conjunction with business partners. These initiatives are aimed at bringing much needed resources to these schools and starting partnerships with more affluent schools and business partners. Some initiatives include a Twining model where resourced school partner with under-resourced schools in the pursuit of aiding development; multi-partner projects such as the Toys R Us donation station and stationery collection drives for our Thuso Schools.

MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet

Originally the MySchool programme was exclusive to schools: only schools could sign up to benefit from their supporter’s swipes at our national partners. Recently the MyVillage MyPlanet alternatives were added to our list of organisations that we raise valuable funds for. MyVillage organizations are charities that care for people. MyPlanet organizations care for animals and the planet.

The three brands (MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet) are simply our way of classifying the organisations that we support.

The system is the same: one card that you can swipe whenever you shop at participating stores.

The benefits are the same: every swipe will support your chosen beneficiary at no cost to you.

The card is the same: the MySchool card is the umbrella brand that represents the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme. You can use the one card your entire life – even if you wish to change your beneficiary you don’t need to get a new card. This is to reduce setup costs for the schools and charities we support and to reduce plastic waste (e.g. when a parent’s child leaves the school and the parent decides to start supporting a charity they can change the beneficiary without the hassle of getting a new card.)

BUT your options have increased: now you can choose to support one of over 10 000 schools and over 360 charities and environmental concerns.

QuotesSA Cares for Life is an organisation with which Timios Homes have a long standing working agreement. While Timios Homes focus primarily on foster care and SA Cares for Life on community work with orphaned and vulnerable families, both organisations place the importance of the safety of children first. After working closely with SA Cares for Life for over a period of 10 years, Timios Homes can truly say that the heartbeat of SA Cares for Life is purely the restoration of families in SA. We have seen how SA Cares for Life went from strength to strength over the last decade and many children and adults lives were touched in a significant way. We gladly recommend SA Cares for Life to any other organisation for partnership and networking relationships.Quotes
