Our story is a powerful reflection of the deep challenges and complexities involved in addressing poverty and helping those in need.  It's clear that our journey into the world of charity started with a heartfelt desire to make a difference, particularly for children and families struggling in difficult circumstances.

Over the last years we experienced the importance of taking people out of the circle of charity to a place of dignity. 

We've highlighted a critical aspect of many charitable efforts, but most importantly the importance of moving beyond short term solutions.  While food parcels or immediate aid can provide temporary relief, they often do not address the root causes of poverty and hopelessness.  Our realisation that true and sustainable changemust come from within individuals and communities brought changes to all our projects and how we now dream of bringing change.

By advocating for a holistic approach that emphasises dignity, self-worth and empowerment, we are pushing for a transformation that not only supports those in need in the moment but also teaches them to build better futures for themselves and their children.  The perspective challenges the traditional views of charity, promoting investments in people and their future, rather than just short term relief.

Out of this was born the For Life Group, a for profit side of SA Cares for Life, focused on creating platforms and small businesses whereby individuals can use their God given talents to create their own income, but also give back to the community in order to also help the next individual or family.

As an organisation we cannot tell people we want to help them take care of themselves, but not show them an example of how we as an organisation, can also generate some income for our projects, through our talents as well.
