DREAM: Finish my NQF 1 - COST R12 000

Jaco Venter

After growing up in extreme poverty I could not finish my education and ended up on in the streets of South Africa. Now on Plot 91 in Cullinan, I managed to stop using drugs, and have been clean for more than a year.  I serve at the project by doing the gardens to grow food for all of us, and to help take care of a disabled man living with me in the hostel.

I hope to have a family one day and to help bring hope to other young men stuck in a cycle of poverty and low self esteem.

DREAM: Finish my Grade 12

Caroline Cook

After growing up in a children's home, I was not able to finish my high school education.  I am currently involved with SA Cares for Life and I have a passion for children and admin.

I hope to be able to share my story of success with other children coming from a similar background to give them hope for their future.

Keagen Vice 16 Years

Growing up with his grandmother due to his own mom not being able to take care of him, Keagen struggled to fit into a normal school environment.  We are fighting to give him a new future and to shape his Destiny.

Homeschooling gives him the opportunity to get an education and also receive mentoring from a father figure.

With his severe form of ADHD he needs a special tutor who understands that he is a slow learner and needs personal attention.

We know that if he can at least read and write we can explore his skills and help him to shape it into a future for him as an adult.  Where will he be without this help?

Jolean Cook 18 Years

After being in a children's home for all my life, I was happy to be re-united with my biological mother.  Unfortunately I could not finish my Grade 11 year last year since the school bus stopped running and my mom could not afford to buy her own car.

This year I want to do my Grade 11 online and finish my high school education in the next two years.

I believe I have potential to make more with my life than people think and prove that although I grew up in a children's home, I still have a future and a destiny.

DREAM: To take care of myself and build a new future for me and my future family

Mike Eybers 25

After spending time on the street as a drug addict, I am happy to say that I am busy turning my life around.  I have been clean for over a year now, and I have dedicated my life to the Lord.  In order to grow and take care of myself I started my own business with the help of SA Cares for Life, and I am making and selling handmade wooden items.

My business is new and I still need some help from month to month for personal items. and I would appreciate help with that, until I can stand on my own feet soon.

This little family came to us after they lost everything during Covid 2020.  With a history of drug use now behind them, we are proud to say that both kids are in School, and Dad Garreth is involved at SA Cares for Life and he is humbly serving the project at Plot 91 in Cullinan.

Mom Natasia has some medical challenges we need your help with.

Her dream is to be a healthy mom for her children and to help her husband to support their family.
